David Ryan

Chief Executive Officer

David Ryan was the former CEO and Managing Director of Thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions’ Oil & Gas Business Unit for the UK. Prior to his employment with Thyssenkrupp, he founded and built a successful engineering consulting organisation, Energy & Power Limited, which was acquired by Thyssenkrupp in 2012. He has over 30 years of increasingly complex engineering, business development, and project management experience. An expert in sophisticated design engineering, David brings a breadth of project delivery, international business management, and general engineering acumen to the Board.

Tim Yeo

Executive Chairman

Tim Yeo has wide experience in government, serving in the Environment and Health Departments, and subsequently as Shadow Secretary of State for Trade and Industry in the Shadow Cabinet. He is currently the chairman of the New Nuclear Watch Institute, Honorary Ambassador of Foreign Investment Promotion for South Korea and since 2007 has been a non-executive director of Getlink SE, operator of the Channel Tunnel whose market capitalisation on the Paris Bourse exceeds £6 billion.

James Greenstreet

Non-Executive Director

James Greenstreet has over 20 years of corporate and structured finance experience. Having started his career at Arthur Andersen, Mr. Greenstreet joined BAE Systems in 1994 to work in the corporate finance team.

After leaving BAE, James held corporate finance positions at IBM and XL Capital, once more focussing on asset and lease finance. In 2001 he co-founded Orbis Capital a successful corporate and structured finance business. Over the past 10 years James has been instrumental in sourcing, structuring, packaging and managing transactions for a number of high profile clients across a wide range of sectors.

Myles Kitcher

Non-Executive Director

With over 20 years’ experience in the energy and waste industries, Myles Kitcher has a career spanning local government, public sector and private enterprise. As Managing Director of Peel L&P Environmental, a developer of real estate and infrastructure in the energy, waste and mineral sectors, he is the leading force behind Protos – Peel’s flagship destination for energy, innovation and industry near Ellesmere Port, north west England. He is also Executive Director of Natural Resources & Energy, Peel L&P and he works with investors, technology providers and private and public sector partners to deliver innovation and investible project opportunities.

Allan Vlah

Non-Executive Director

With twenty years’ experience in the investment industry, Allan Vlah is a director in Aviva Investors’ infrastructure group where he started and continues to lead Aviva Investors’ Energy from Waste equity strategy. Prior to joining Aviva Investors in 2012, Allan was a vice president at the Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund with a focus on transportation and renewable energy. He was previously a research analyst and portfolio manager covering energy and infrastructure trusts for TD Waterhouse Investment Advice. Allan holds an MBA from the Saïd School of Business at Oxford University and is also a CFA charterholder.

Kirsty Gogan

Non-Executive Director

Kirsty is an internationally sought-after advisor to governments, industry, academic networks and NGOs and is a recognised expert speaker on science communication, climate change, competitiveness and innovation. She has more than 15 years’ experience as a senior advisor to Government on climate and energy policy, including 10 Downing Street, and the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister.

Kirsty is Managing Partner of LucidCatalyst and she chairs the UK Government’s Nuclear Innovation Research and Advisory Board (NIRAB) Cost Reduction Working Group. She is also Co-founder of Energy for Humanity (EFH), an environmental NGO focused on large scale deep decarbonisation and energy access.

Mark Berry

Non-Executive Director

Mark Berry is a Partner at Norton Rose Fulbright LLP. Mark specialises in the project financing of energy, infrastructure and process engineering projects. He has particular expertise in the waste to energy (including materials recovery and fuel recovery from waste), transport and mining sectors. Mark’s experience includes advising on a number of project financed waste and waste to energy schemes including PFI and merchant/commercial projects. He is also a Chartered Engineer and a member of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers.

Chris Vanezis

Chief Financial Officer

A Chartered Accountant with 25 years’ experience in the energy sector. Chris Vanezis has been working with PowerHouse Energy as CFO since 2017 having previously held CFO roles with Express Energy and for the international business division of Cinergy Corp (Duke Energy), in addition to a project accountant role with Midlands Electricity and various consultancy assignments. He has worked on numerous energy and renewable energy generation projects, electricity transmission and gas distribution projects, covering key finance areas. He trained with PWC.

Bruce Nicholson

Project Commercial Manager

Bruce brings 30 years of experience in the energy industry, working in Projects, Operations & Management, primarily in delivering complex capital projects including Planning, Project Services & Project Management.

Bruce manages the Commercial and Contracts aspects relating to partners and company operations.

Dr Andrew Physick

Senior Process Engineer

Dr Physick has a uniquely wide ranging, multi-disciplinary skillset that was gained from working on projects spanning several continents in numerous sectors, often in challenging environments. In his early career he predominantly worked with DC thermal plasma systems in the precious metal recovery, catalyst, WEEE, nuclear and hazardous waste sectors. More recently he has focused on waste to energy, in particular, gasification systems. Dr Physick specialises in bringing first of a kind apex technology plants through all stages of development from concept, FEED and detailed design through to installation, commissioning and client handover, where he brings several thousand hours of on-site and operational experience to the table.
